Meeting critical workforce needs
Communities rely on skilled teachers and healthcare professionals—and Indiana University is helping meet talent shortages. Across the state, IU is providing students with practical, hands-on experience in classrooms, clinics, and advanced simulation labs, preparing them for the realities of high-demand careers in education and healthcare. By training professionals where they’re needed most and equipping them to serve close to home, IU is strengthening the state region by region.
Upskilling workers across the globe
Training an AI-ready workforce
At Indiana University, students have access to AI tools and cutting-edge training no matter what their major is. Sisters and musicians Kaitlin and Nikki Pet have applied their AI skills to create PetsAloud, a technology that synchronizes animation and video to real-time performance. Through programs like GenAI 101—a free online course for anyone in the world who wants to learn how to use generative AI effectively and ethically—Indiana University has set the standard in preparing workers with AI skills.
The rise of AI makes us all students again, and we are working hard to keep Indiana University at the forefront of this digital transformation. By opening our doors to the public, we ensure that our faculty, students, staff and now everyone can come sharpen their understanding, insight and marketable skills.
